Welcome

Kaydrith Stud is an award-winning small stud re-established in 2015, owned by WPCS Panel Judges John Cuddy and his wife, Stacey. The re-established stud name combines John's original prefix, the Kaydence Stud of Welsh Cobs (established in 1996) with Stacey's original prefix, the Lledrith Stud of Welsh Mountain Ponies (established in 2006).

All of the ponies at Kaydrith are selectively chosen for specific attributes, the foremost being correct conformation and being true to the Welsh Pony & Cob Society breed description closely followed by movement and a trainable temperament.

These attributes are particularly important when selecting a suitable stallion for the mares and every selection is carefully scrutinised, thus ensuring the quality of the youngstock produced here is as high as possible.

"Our Welsh Mountain Ponies are influenced by the prominent North Walian studs of this century, such as Coed Coch, Betws and Nerwyn and the mid Walian Revel, in particular Revel Jeeves. Other prominent influences filtering down from that foundation include Sunwillow, Cascob, Islyn and Idyllic and these studs feature frequently throughout the pedigrees of our ponies."

"Our Welsh Cobs are strongly influenced by the bloodlines of the Trevallion Stud, a combination that worked particularly well with the foundation mare Crossbrook Angharad II who was by multiple Royal Welsh champion Ebbw Victor."

The ultimate aim is to breed a true to type versatile pony or cob that can put on a winning display for the show ring but has the functionality and temperament to be able to be ridden, driven or even used as a child’s pony in-between.

The stud is located in Devon on our 40 acre farm and is placed among some of the most beautiful countryside and architectural beauty in the South West of England.

We are approximately 1 hour from Bristol and are easily accessible from either the M5 motorway at Cullompton (7 minutes) or the A303 at Honiton (10 minutes)

We have sold ponies and cobs throughout the UK and have exported to the Netherlands, France, Denmark, Sweden & Czech Republic and we pride ourselves on satisfied customers.

We hope you enjoy your visit,

John, Stacey, Naarah & Scarlett Cuddy
